Louis Cunningham, M.D., F.A.C.C., is a cardiologist at Heart & Vascular Center of West Tennessee. 

Dr. Cunningham has extensive medical experience acquired through years of education, training, and leadership in both academic and clinical settings, including:

• Medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee

• Internal medicine internship and residency at Tulane-affiliated hospitals in New Orleans, Louisiana

• Additional internal medicine internship and residency at Hubbard Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee

• Cardiology fellowship at Harlem Hospital in New York, New York

Dr. Cunningham has served in several professional roles, including:

• Chief Resident and Instructor at Hubbard Hospital

• House Physician at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Murfreesboro, Tennessee

• Assistant Professor of Medicine at Meharry Medical College

• Cardiologist in private practice in Memphis and Jackson, Tennessee

Throughout his career, Dr. Cunningham has received numerous honors and awards, including the C.V. Mosby Award, the Lange Award, the Founders Circle Award, and recognition from Lane College for his professional achievements. He is an active member of multiple medical organizations, including the American College of Cardiology, American College of Physicians, and American Medical Association.
