Summer Sanders, MSN, BSN, FNP-C, is a family nurse practitioner at the Jackson, Tennessee, location of Heart & Vascular Center of West Tennessee.
Summer has a diverse background in cardiology, electrophysiology, trauma, critical care, same-day surgery, dialysis, and nursing management. She specializes in pacemakers, defibrillators, and heart failure and rhythm management.
Summer completed her associate degree in nursing at Jackson State Community College in Jackson, Tennessee. She then earned both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in nursing at Chamberlain University in Addison, Illinois.
Summer then moved back to the Jackson area, where she’s been practicing ever since.
From 2000 to 2018, she served as charge nurse/head supervisor at Jackson’s Regional Hospital. In 2011, she joined Heart & Vascular Center of West Tennessee as a nurse manager, physician coordinator, and electrophysiology extender.
Summer believes in compassionate, holistic patient care and is a committed lifelong learner. She is certified in basic life support and has been a BLS instructor.
To best serve her patients and stay at the forefront of her field, Summer belongs to several professional societies, including Tennessee Nurses Association, Emergency Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, Heart Rhythm Society, American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and American Association of Heart Failure Nurses.
